Inside

I don’t remember when I first sensed this space. Sometimes it seems like it has always been here—like a whisper without words, like light without a source. I don’t know if I’m moving or standing still, I don’t feel time; it passes by without touching me. Sometimes shadows drift past—faceless, nameless, but leaving a trace behind, like a raindrop on glass. Sometimes it feels like everything begins with a scent. Elusive, faint, like a childhood memory when you don't yet have words for the world, but the world already knows everything about you. I inhale not air, but some common aftertaste—as if someone ate oranges here long ago, and only the zest remains on the tip of the tongue. In the very beginning, there’s always an aftertaste. Time here isn’t like its usual flow—it spreads like spilled jam: sticky, sluggish, sweet. It clings to your fingers and trails after you if you try to leave, but no one truly leaves. Time here is you, just stretched out, without sharp corners or exact ...

He Writes

Writing in a diary was a habit — not just a routine, but a kind of ritual. Every evening, before bed, he would open a leather-bound notebook, pull out a pen, and write: "Tomorrow. Morning. Breakfast at seven. Work. Meeting at noon. In the evening, buy milk. Before bed, read a few pages." Simple, clear bullet points. Day after day. Discipline helped. But that evening, when he sat down at the desk, the diary was already open. On the page, written in neat handwriting, it said: "Tomorrow. Breakfast at seven. The meeting will be delayed. Don’t forget the milk in the evening." His hand froze above the page. He was certain he hadn’t written that. At first, he thought it was a prank. Maybe someone had broken in? Or worse — maybe he had written it and forgotten? But the next day, the meeting really was delayed. That evening, he sat at the desk again, this time just watching. Waiting. Ink began to appear on the paper, as if guided by an invisible hand. ...

Annihilating Friday

When his father died, it was a Friday. They hadn't seen each other in a long time. And Friday became a symbol of loss for him. For the first time in his life, he felt how time could deliver blows. Each new Friday seemed to reset his grief, a stark reminder that he hadn't had the chance to say goodbye to his father. Gradually, this feeling grew into hatred. Not towards people, not towards circumstances, but towards a day of the week. He decided: Friday must be annihilated. At first, it was minor things – destroying calendars, tearing out pages marked Friday. Then his methods became more radical. He sought out and destroyed books where Friday was mentioned, bought up and burned postcards and albums featuring Friday holidays. Radio programs and TV shows airing on Friday ignited his fury. He filed complaints, lobbied for laws, even enlisted lawyers to have Friday removed from the calendar. "Friday is a mistake!" he insisted, addressing officials. But it wasn't...

Together and Apart

Once, Together and Apart were a single being. In their harmony, stars were born, worlds were created, and neither separation nor struggle existed. They were that which united and separated equally, the single breath of the universe. But one day, something disrupted their balance. To be one meant to stop evolving, to be two meant to enter into eternal opposition. And they tore themselves apart, becoming mirror images of each other. Together became the power of creation, a binding link, gravitation. It gathered particles into planets, planets into systems, souls into societies. Its strength lay in unity, in that which creates a whole from disparate parts. Apart became the power of freedom, separation, rupture. It bestowed individuality, allowed that which had exhausted itself to disintegrate, paved paths to the new. They went their separate ways, but with each era, their collisions became inevitable. They met again and again, giving rise to the movement of time, becoming the causes of ...

The Observer's Case

Court sessions drew him in the same way thunder attracts lightning. Simon Wells sat in the courtroom, barely noticeable among the public, his face resembling an emotionless mask. He was only interested in the details—witness testimonies, the lawyers' lines of thought, the mistakes that cost defendants their freedom. In every session, he took notes in his black notebook. Simon wasn’t an ordinary listener. He didn’t come out of curiosity. He studied every crack in the system, every loophole, every way one could evade punishment or, conversely, manipulate the law. He knew how words, intonations, and even pauses could either save a person or drown them. And he was preparing. Each session brought him closer to his goal. He studied court practices, analyzed the mistakes of criminals and investigators, choosing the perfect method. He needed a flawless strategy. All for one crime he intended to commit. The system had taken everything from him. Simon's father, Walter Wells, was an o...
