On
the planet Eolia, shrouded in a veil of multicolored mists, lived amazing
beings called the Aer. They did not know the taste of food, nor did they
experience hunger as we understand it. Their world was a world of aromas, a
symphony of scents that nourished their bodies and souls.
The
Aer were tall and slender, with skin that shimmered like mother-of-pearl. Their
faces were adorned with large, expressive eyes, and instead of a nose, they had
bizarre, flower-like olfactory organs. These "flowers" would open and
close, inhaling the subtle scents that wafted through the air.
The
life of the Aer was inextricably linked to plants. Their cities resembled
fairytale gardens, where every tree and every bush exuded a unique fragrance.
The Aer were skilled gardeners, creating amazing compositions of plants,
weaving scents into intricate patterns.
At
the center of each city was the Temple of Aromas – a sacred place where the Aer
performed "breathing" rituals. By inhaling specially selected
compositions of scents, they achieved harmony with themselves and the world,
healed illnesses, and even communicated with the spirits of their ancestors.
But
the life of the Aer was not an idyllic one. They were threatened by
"aromatic storms" – natural disasters that brought with them
suffocating, poisonous odors. The Aer learned to predict these storms and take
refuge in special underground bunkers filled with life-giving aromas.
One
day, an Earth ship arrived on Eolia. The astronauts who emerged from the ship
were amazed by the beauty of this world and the unusual way of life of the Aer.
But they could not understand how it was possible to live without eating. The
Aer, in turn, were surprised by the earthlings who "devoured" food
instead of enjoying its aroma.
The
meeting of the two civilizations marked the beginning of a long and fruitful
dialogue. The earthlings helped the Aer develop new technologies to protect
themselves from aromatic storms, and the Aer taught the earthlings the art of
"aromatic meditation", which helped them achieve peace of mind and
harmony.
Thus,
two different cultures, two different forms of life found a common language,
proving that mutual understanding and friendship are possible even in the most
fantastic worlds.
